Man, 80, struck & killed by pickup truck in Blair County

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Police are investigating after a truck struck and killed a man who had fallen onto the roadway in Altoona Friday evening.

According to a Facebook post by the Altoona Police Department, the incident occurred Friday, just after 11 p.m., on the intersection of 6th Avenue and 12th Street.

Police said that the 80-year-old victim was walking in the area and had fallen onto the roadway.

According to the post, several vehicles passed by the man, who was struggling to get to his feet, before a Ram 1500 pickup truck struck him.

Police stated that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
