Man Wanted On Warrant Nabbed By Norwalk Police After Failing To Appear In Court

Norwalk Police received a tip on Saturday, Jan. 11, that Brian Davis, 45, of Bridgeport, would be arriving at the Courtyard by Marriott on Main Avenue, said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler.

On the way to the location, officers spotted Davis in a vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop, Zwickler said.

The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and continued to travel up Main Avenue at a slow speed before eventually pulling over, he added.

Davis was ordered out of the car and allegedly refused to comply.

According to Zwickler, when officers attempted to arrest him, Davis tensed up his arms and legs and held on to the door jamb and the seat belt as officers were attempting to place him under arrest.

After officers finally removed Davis from the vehicle, he was searched and found to have several pieces of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana, police said.

Davis was charged with disobeying the signal of an officer, interfering with an officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a daycare; possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a daycare, and two counts of failure to appear.

He is being held on a $70,000 bond.
