Shortly before 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 7, officers were called to an off-campus rental on East College Avenue, where 20-year-old Westernport resident Alexander Ramon Redondo, 20, had been shot during an altercation.
He was rushed to UPMC Western Maryland for emergency treatment, but later died from his gunshot wounds. Officials noted that he was not a student at Frostburg State University
Police say that two other women were also shot during the incident. One was taken to UPMC Western Maryland, and the other to WVU Medicine’s Potomac Valley Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Both women - who are students at Frostburg State - were listed in stable condition on Monday, May 8.
A third student from FSU was also later taken to UPMC Western Maryland on Sunday afternoon for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound that was also incurred during the party.
No motive or suspect has been identified by police.
The incident is now being investigated by the Frostburg City Police Department.
