WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) — An investigation is being conducted into the death of two-time PGA Tour winner and Florida resident Grayson Murray.
The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department said on Tuesday that it is investigating the 30-year-old golfer's death, which occurred inside a residence within city limits on May 25 at around 11 a.m.
Following an initial investigation, police said there does not appear to be any signs of foul play. In a statement released Sunday via the PGA Tour on X, Murray's parents said their son died by suicide.
There is no threat to the public. Police said while the investigation is underway, no further information will be released at this time.
Murray's passing came a day after he withdrew from the Charles Schwab Cup Challenge at Colonial in Texas. Murray was honored on the tour by his peers who wore red-and-black ribbons during the final round — a nod to Murray's favorite hockey team the Carolina Hurricanes.
Murray recently won the Sony Open in January and the Barbasol Championship in 2017.
